What We Do
Welcome to my little corner of the internet! My name is Monika, I am 35 years old and am an artist who has drawn for most of her life.On recommendation of a friend, I have decided to make a carrd to collect all information about my selfships and the different alternate universes (AUs) connected to them.
Maybe I will showcase my self-inserts themselves as well. Current AUs I have are for Pokemon, Digimon, Voltron Legendary Defender and many more.

1. Why are you selfshipping at all? Isn't it enough to just ship a canon x canon pair, or even just an OC with your favorite character?Listen, I am not against shipping canon x canon characters as well, in fact, I had many a ship in the different fandoms that I have participated in in the past (for example, I am still a big fan of Jaden Yuki x Yubel from Yu-Gi-Oh GX, if any of you is familiar with that.) But, a canon x canon pair needs to have a certain chemistry with each other in order to appeal to me.I am most familiar with selfshipping, due to my long past with it. I come from an abusive household, with my mother being my first bully in life. The first ever character I selfshipped with actively was Mewtwo from Pokémon. I was 11 years old when i fell deeply in love with him, and this love has endured to this day.I selfship because I want to be acknowledged, I want to be seen in some way, especially after having to hide my self for so long. I find that many people are using canon x canon to project into one of the characters of their chosen pairing. Selfshipping through a self-insert does seem like the most honest way to acknowledge your love for a character. I cannot imagine being with Mewtwo as anyone or anything other than what I am.OCs as a medium for selfshipping is also okay, because what is an OC if not a more fancy version of a self-insert character?
